Een Marina haven.. peperdure villa's.. luxe appartementen... luxe 5 sterren hotel.. beachclubs.. een Ernie Els golfcourt.. het kan niet op..! Sao Pedro wordt een internationale luchthaven ook.. Salamansa Sands... nog een partij landschapsverkrachting met nog een golfcourt.. en bijbehorende toestanden... toerisme... ontwikkeling...?

*** A Marina harbour.. expensive villas.. luxury appartments.. luxury 5 star hotel.. beachclubs.. an Ernie Els golf court.. quite something..! Sao Pedro will become an international airport soon.. Salamansa Sands.. another serious landscape rape attempt with another golf court.. and all the things around this.. tourism... development..?

Alles met volledige steun van de Regering.. maar... hoe gaat de gewone Kaapverdiaan hier van en mee vooruit..? Op de grootste hoofden vallen de meeste druppels en men is gek op een beetje regen daar.. financieel ook...! een beetje nat worden.. in beide opzichten.. willen ze best...!

*** All this with full support of the Government.. but.. how will the average poor Capeverdian benefit from all this..? The biggest heads catch most drops when it rains and they love a bit of rain there.. financially.. too.. to get slightly wet.. in both aspects.. they volunteer...!

Maar.. wordt ons vredige en rustige eiland en dorpje niet opgeslokt in deze toeristische heisa.. drukker... duurder... misschien wat werk voor mensen van het eiland.. zal wel.. maar die gaan ook in verhouding veel meer betalen.. de prijzen omhoog.. met een relatief niet navenant salaris.... zo gaat dat.. en praktisch alles moest al worden geimporteerd.. de toerisme poppenkast gaat open..

*** But.. will our peaceful and quiet island and village not be absorbed and eaten in this tourism tornado.. busier.. more expensive.. maybe some extra jobs for the people of the island.. true.. but they will have to pay too.. the prices will go up.. with a comparable relatively low salary.. that's the way it goes.. and close to all goods had to be imported already.. the tourism show opens its doors..

Het 1e linkje in de link-lijst is een video van Reuters persburo.. all-in reizen met mensen die het hotel, huis of appartement alleen uitkomen voor een bezoek aan het strand.. brengen niets binnen voor de lokale middenstand.. of de bevolking.. de lokale gemeenschap schiet er niet veel mee op.. de winst daalt ergens anders.. wordt in deze video duidelijk op ingehaakt..

Grote vraag is.. of de Winstmakers ook investeren in de gemeenschap en deze steunen.. en of de Regering dit ook als duidelijk omschreven eis heeft gesteld.. om ze de kans te geven grote winsten te maken... ***

Big question is.. if the Moneymakers also support and invest in the community.. and if the Government has demanded this in a descripted way.. to allow them to generate large profits..

De rest van de aangehechte promotie video's spreekt voor zich... development... pfff.... een betere omschrijving is simpel.. business...!

Veel lokale mensen maken zich toch erg veel zorgen... of alles er wel echt beter op wordt voor hen in de toekomst.. en de rust en idenditeit van de eilanden niet te veel aangetast wordt...

De tijd zal het leren.. wie kan de investeerders stoppen..??? en wie kan het ze kwalijk nemen...??? het is maar hoe je het bekijkt.. maar voor wat.. hoort wat.. ook voor de gewone locale mensen... dat is in de Creoolse cultuur standaard...!

Democratie heeft in de loop der jaren goede dingen gebracht.. maar is deze 'echt'..?
